Kossivi Sénagbé Afiadegnigban
Saturday, December 2nd – 11:00
Palais des Festivals (Cannes)
KOSSIVI SÉNAGBÉ AFIADEGNIGBAN Choreographer invited by the Studiotrade Platform.
Topic addressed: Anchoring
Being grounded is important for a dancer. Anchored in his body for better posture, more stability, balance and coordination. But, also anchoring oneself to the earth or the sky facilitates the movement. Anchoring oneself in the gaze, in contact with one’s partner or in the intention, develops the quality of movement. Being grounded in yourself also allows you to have more self-confidence, inner strength and security.
The work will focus on “inking” in traditional African and Togolese dances in particular where the body is used in a polyrhythmic way. Inking is one of the elements that gives power to the movements in traditional dances allowing the dancers to draw energy from heaven and earth to nourish their movements.
Through the awakening and stimulation of the spine, a source of energy and connections, we will go through specific movements that draw their foundation from the initiatory dance “Edan” (Snake) from Togo; to go and rub shoulders with this notion of “inking” as a way of holding the dance, our dance.

Etay Axelroad
Monday, December 4th – 18:00
Palais des Festivals (Cannes)
Performer of the Bastsheva Dance Company
The masterclass will be divided into two parts. The first part will focus on the search for movement where you will experiment with the different elements of dance. You will use methods and languages from ballet and the contemporary world, as well as styles from urban culture. By combining these elements, new ideas, directions and physical findings from past and present research will be introduced.
In the second part of the master class, Etay will teach you the material of his latest piece, LED, which he will also present as part of the festival. You will not use mirrors. You will work on your body awareness and how you use it in relation to gravity, different parts of your body, other people and space. The emphasis is on the how. Analysis and engagement of the body through the body.

Asia Zonta
Thursday, December 7th – 18:00
Palais des Festivals (Cannes)
I’m Asia Zonta, and I’ve been dancing since the age of 4. My journey in the world of dance has been a lifelong passion. I was born and raised in Italy until the age of 14, and then I moved to Spain, where I further deepened my love for dance and discovered the art of improvisation, particularly freestyle. During my years in Barcelona and Madrid, I had the serendipitous opportunity to encounter Waacking, a dance form that I embraced and developed organically within my own body. In this dance, I discovered numerous connections, both in terms of movement and cultural resonance.
In Spain, the welcoming Waacking community played a crucial role in helping me integrate and learn more about this captivating style. In recent years, my dance journey has taken me to France, where I have had the privilege of working with dance companies. This experience has opened up an entirely new world of artistic expression, lifestyle, and personal growth for me.
